1. N에 관한 N : about N, on, as to

그 사람에 관한 소식을 들었지요?

2. V-고자 : intend to V, would like to V

The Pattern '-고자 하다' can be used to express intention of doing something. It is similar to the pattern '-(으)려고 하다', '-(으)ㄹ 생각이다' but it is not as strong as the other two.

사람들은 누구나 잘 살고자 열심히 일을 합니다.

Everyone works diligently to live a good life.

나는 그분을 찾고자 많은 노력을 했습니다. 아직 못 찾았습니다.

I have tried hardly to find that person. But still can't find him.

손님들을 대접하고자 불고기를 준비했습니다.

I prepared pulgogi to treat the guests.

*V-고자 하다 :  intend to V

오늘은 여러분에게 한국 영화에 대해서 말씀드리고자 합니다.

Today I will introduce about a Korean movie to everyone.

3. N은/는 물론(이고)N도 : not only N1, but also N2

내 동생은 물론이고 내 친구도 축구하는 것을 좋아해요.

My brother and my friend also like football.

냉장고는 물론이고 세탁기도 필요해요.

I need a fridge and a washing machine also.

그 학생은 말하기는 물론 쓰기도 잘해요.

That student is good at speaking and writing also.

4. N, N 등 : N, N, etc

한국에는 백두산, 금강산, 설악산, 지리산 등 아름다운 산들이 많다.

Korea has many beautiful mountains like 백두산, 금강산, 설악산, 지리산, etc.

내가 좋아하는 과일은 사과, 포도, 수박 등이다.

The fruits that I like are apple, grape, lemon water, etc.

이번 겨울에는 새 운동화, 구두, 양말, 바지 등이 꼭 필요하다.

5. V-거나 아니면 : either V or ____/ Not only V, but ____

오늘 오후에 오시거나 아니면 내일 오전에 오세요.

6. V-도록 : in order to V, one may do

'- 도록' is attached to verbs and expresses the action which is taken to reach a certain point. In many cases, '-도록' is used with '하다' and it means to make a hearer do something. If it takes the 1st subject, it expresses the subject's will.

숙제를 6시까지는 끝낼 수 있도록 서둘러야 해요.

In order to finish the homework at 6, I must be hurry.

우리 은행에 저금하도록 친구에게 얘기해 주세요.

Please talk to your friends to save (deposit) money in our bank.

학생들이 이해할 수 있도록 자세기 설명했어요.

I explain clearly in order for students to understand.

학교에 늦지 않도록 서두르세요

Be hurry to not be late for school.

1년 후에는 한국 사람처럼 말할 수 있도록 열심히 공부할 거예요.

8. V-는 길에 : on the way to, ____/ While V, ___

고향에 내려가는 길에 바닷가에 들러 며칠 쉴까 해요.

On the way back to hometown, I will pass by the beach for resting several days.

한국으로 돌아오는 길에 하와이에 들리려고 합니다.

On the way returning Korea, I plan to visit Hawai.

학교에 오는 길에 옛알 친구를 만났어요.
